Fees/Expenses

Fees and Expenses fall into the following categories:

 

  • Application Deposit - A one-time non-refundable $300 payment must be submitted along with the application. The deposit is refundable ONLY when the program is cancelled by UTA.

 

  • Study Abroad Processing Fee - The UTA Study Abroad office charges a one-time processing fee of $75.

 

  • UTA Tuition – In-state students pay approximately $1,218 for 3 credit hours at the undergraduate level. Students who qualify for summer financial aid may apply that aid towards their tuition. Tuition payment is made to UTA following normal summer registration deadlines.

 

  • Program Fee – The program fee includes 3-hour language/culture classes 5 days/week for 3 weeks. Classes are taught by local faculty at the Xi'an International Studies University, use of library and sport facilities. 2-weekend excursions to neighboring sties. ($1051 + $300= $1315 tentative)

 

  • Airfare – Students may participate in a group flight or may purchase airfare on their own. The group flight is NOT included in the program cost. Pricing will be available at a later date. A round trip flight from DFW to Beijing is usually around $1500. A round trip high speed train from Beijing to Xi'an is about $150. Final itinerary can be discussed and determined at a later date.

 

  • Lodging – $350/person for 23 nights. On campus dorm with AC, Wifi, and shower room. Double occupancy.

 

  • Meal – $260/person for 23 days. On campus cafeteria or restaurants close to campus.

 

  • Personal Expenses – Additional expenditures include passport costs (if the student does not have one), student insurance, and spending money for other personal expenditure.
